I suppose that has merit to ask whether resentment IS real or ISN'T real. OK, bear with me here.
EGO is all about the illusion. The EGO POLICE, for example, is a POV few take accountability for. That is to say, it takes ego to notice ego and be disturbed.
A creative mind is never bored; hence, boredom comes from a boring mind sort of a thing. Blaming someone or something else for our boredom in failing to acknowledge we are our own problem.
There is what happened to us in life, and there's what we THOUGHT happened to us in life. Everything in God's Hands is beautified and is now on God's Calendar (Step 6). Like Bill W. pointed out, "In God's Economy, nothing is wasted." I look at that quote like some Native tribes looked at the buffaloes they killed. NOTHING goes to waste.
When we got a new manager, God, and after facing the darkest truths in our lives, we wore our New Pair of Glasses, and resentments transformed or sometimes melted away (Step 5).
Forgiveness runs deeper than what has been done to us and what we have done to others (Steps 7-10). Once we become the proverbial 'Hole in the Doughnut' that the 12 and 12 mentions, we become anonymous through Stepp 11 and work an effortless joy in Step 12.
Firing ourselves is a good thing. I'm tired of running the self-ass-kicking machine. LOL!
