A great way to kill a man is to say he was raping a child and POOF; she's off scot-free! If he was trying to rape a child at the time of blowing his head off, wouldn't that place the life of the child in danger? 'Trying to rape' is a statement that implies his being 'in the commission of (or act of) the crime. Keeping one's wits about you when the shit hits the fan is a useful tool for self-defense of a vulnerable...REAL self-defense. If the woman killed him after the fact, that is a different scenario, one of NOT defending the innocent, but rather an act of passion.
No jury in their right mind would send a woman to a life term for protecting her child from being raped, but the facts should go before a judge and jury before saying 'string that bastard up.'
In the history of our country, the lynchings of many innocent people have ensued for 'rape.' Now, if they are guilty and it's proven, we have a different argument. Chances are if I happened to have a shotgun near my child's bed when the pedophile attacked her/him, there's no telling what I'd do; I might cap the culprit.
A firey rush to judgment is not reasonable, but it's maybe better than the child having to live through the rape and the lifetime consequences. I've met many women who became incredibly strong despite what happened to them in life. Still, I've also seen some living a life of hellish memories which allows them to become what happened to them, not as in they offended against others, but rather that they transgressed against themselves for a lifetime of abject misery.
So sad what goes on in this world. What's nearly as tragic is the justification for the violence that occurs when we tread the slippery slope of 'reason.' After reading the article about the man having his 'head blown off', a following "Related Article" in the same newspaper headlined, "Angry father chops off the penis of a man who raped his 9-year-old daughter. The publication is prostituting themselves and using the rage of readers to power ratings for their rag — what a bunch of whores.
But then I got suspicious and did some digging on SNOPES. They posted the following:
